German coils market is resisting bullish moves of mills taken amid expensive imports.Earlier this week, ArcelorMittal announced a EUR30/t price increase for coils, effective immediately, following the samehike three weeks ago, mainly driven by uptick in import prices. However, German buyers are refusing to accept thehikes considering them “not possible for the time being either to the industry or to end-users,” a source in the markettold Metal Expert. Insiders say that mills’ order books are not filled and most of them are able to offer March shipment,even for HDG. “The fact is that the market is weak across all industries. Demand has slowed down, not just in the autoindustry,” another source added.
