Global fuel demand growth is expected to be slow in coming decades as new technologies,such as more fuel-efficient vehicles and electric vehicles,will reduce consumption.On the other hand,the market for PCs is growing.According to BP's 2018 Energy Outlook,the share of the average oil barrel dedicated to transportation fuel will peak at 58% in 2025 and,afterwards,will begin to decline.The share for chemicals,however,is expected to rise from 16% in 2020 to 20% in 2040.Worldwide refining capacity currently stands at about 4B mt/y(80MM b/d)while 500MM mt/y of PCs are produced each year.This shows a tremendous potential for growth to meet the demand for PCs.
