US West Texas Intermediate(WTI) and UK Brent crude oil benchmark prices fell in the week to Jan 25,halting a three-week rally,on concerns about glutted global supplies and faltering demand.Lending strength to US crude prices,however,was the threat of potential sanctions on Venezuela and a disruption in crude supplies to US refiners.WTI was unchanged on Monday,and Brent prices were only marginally higher,as the US market was closed for the Martin Luther King Jr.Day holiday.Global equities fell after data suggested that China's economic growth in 2018 skidded to a 28-year low,and analysts worried that an economic slowdown will not be limited to China.Offsetting some of the bearishness,however,was a report that showed China's refinery throughput in 2018 jumped 6.8% to a record high of 12.1MM b/d.
