US crude stocks hit highest since 2017;product inventories climb

Combined EIA crude and product inventories increased over die week ending Feb.8 by 5.2MM bbl to 849.3MM bbl.Crude oil stocks swelled 3.6MM bbl to 450.8MM bbl,up for die fourth straight week and hitting the highest level since Nov.2017,due in part to a sharp drop in refinery runs.Analysts had anticipated a smaller build to the axne of 2.7MM bbl.On the other hand,crude stocks held at the NYMEX WTI delivery point of Cushing,Oklahoma skidded 1.02MM bbl to 41.61MM bbl.
