摘要

The Indonesian government has ordered Pertamina to stop all imports of heavy-sweet crude for its Balongan refinery complex, and replace these volumes with domestic heavy-sweet output, in a further attempt to cut its hefty energy import bill amid rising heavy crude prices. Pertamina had typically sourced almost all of its heavy-sweet imports from Africa (Gabon's Rabi Export Blend and South Sudan's Dar Blend and Nile Blend) and South America (Argentina's Escalante and Brazil's Lula and Sapinhoa). Indonesia could save $ 1.4B in energy import bills this year by sourcing heavy crude from domestic field operators rather than external suppliers, Pertamina's Vice President of Corporate Communication, Fajriyah Usman, said. "Pertamina will no longer need to import heavy and super heavy crudes. Pertamina would be able to cut its overall crude imports by at least 3MM b/month [99K b/d] this year."
