Dangote refinery delayed to 2021,NPSC plans to extend pipeline to refinery

While the 650K-b/d refinery in Nigeria was set to come online in 2020,officials now say that construction will be completed by 2020,but the plant will begin crude processing in the beginning of 2021,Dangote Group's Executive Director Devakumar Edwin also added that the company hopes the refinery will reach full capacity by the end of 2021 as well.According to industry sources,Dangote revised the refinery's completion due to scarce foreign exchange in the country,which has resulted in low crude prices and limited production.The refinery has received it FCCU,columns for the CDU reactor,and the regenerator.The refinery will use 53% of its capacity to produce gasoline,for which Nigeria currently relies on fuel imports to satisfy demand.The country currently imports IMM/month(279K b/d)of gasoline.Edwin Said,"We target to export surplus products from the refinery including petrol and diesel to Europe,South America and West African countries."
