According to a company executive,privately-owned Dangote Group’s 650K-b/d refinery in Lagos, which is on track to be Nigeria’s largest refinery, will instead deliver fuel via roads and sea ports to customers in the country once it is fully operational. Some market participants thought that poor road quality and port congestion will prompt the refinery to build a pipeline to deliver its product. The refinery plans to have”shuttle”boats transport its products to Calabar and Warri while deliveries to other locations in Nigeria will be sent via truck.Dangote Group is in the process of fixing and expanding a road to Lelcki, said Executive Director Devakumar Edwin, while the Lagos state government plans to build a toll road to help with shipments.
