Heydar Aliyev refinery upgrade will help reduce environmental impact

The 2nd and 3rd stages of the upgrade of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic's 160K-b/d refinery will allow for production of diesel and gasoline meeting Euro 5 standards,which will result in lower vehicle emissions.It is estimated that 80% of Azerbaijan's emissions comes from vehicles.The modernization and reconstruction of the Heydar Aliyev refinery will also install modern technologies mat should also reduce environmental risks associated with refinery operations.
