The 2009 H1N1 experience: policy implications for future infectious disease emergencies.

On March 5, 2010, the Center for Biosecurity of UPMC convened an invitational conference in Washington, DC, to review the most significant lessons learned from the response to the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic and to consider policy implications for future infectious disease emergencies. More than 140 participants attended, including federal and state government officials, congressional staff, policy analysts, academics, members of the media, and experienced practitioners from medicine, public health, and emergency management.
