Export of Stainless Steel Scrap in September 2018 Is 12,737 Tons

According to the customs statistics prepared by the Ministry of Finance, the export volume of stainless steelscrap in September 2018 was 12,737 tons, down by 11.8% from the prior month.When compared with the prior month, the exports to India and Thailand were up, but the decreased exports toSouth Korea and Taiwan had an impact. Taiwan increased the import of flat rolled stainless steel and ingot (stainless slab)from Indonesia, which resulted in decreased production volume of stainless crude steel as well as decreased consumptionof stainless steel scrap. On the one hand, South Korea increased the import of nickel pig iron from Indonesia, which alsoresulted in decreased consumption of stainless steel scrap.
