Asia Sees Serene Talks on Ni-base Sheet for September Shipments

PT Indonesia Tsingshan Stainless Steel (ITSS) recently raised its price of nickel (Ni)-base hot-rolled steel coil (HRC) from $1,700-1,749 to $1,750-1,799 CFR. Chinese mills followed suit and raised their price from $1,900-1,949 to $1,950-1,999 CFR. Following these moves, negotiations on stainless steel (SST) sheet products for September shipments have begun in Asia. The negotiations are expected to take place in a quiet atmosphere with some Chinese mills planning production cuts. Zhejiang Tsingshan Steel has declared a production cut of 30,000-50,000 tonnes in summer. Two mills have followed suit, with a planned production cut of 15,000 tonnes and 30,000 tonnes, respectively.
