The Japanese mills’ negotiations on electro-galvanized (EG) steel sheets have passed over the peak for May shipment, and they have begun to work on negotiations for June shipment. For April shipment, prices of EG sheets rose by US$10-15 influenced by a rise in prices of hot-rolled (HR) steel coils. However, those prices for May fell down almost to the price level for April shipment before reaching a range of a rise in prices of HR coils. For June shipment, they are also offering an increase in prices but it is uncertain to what extent customers listen to such price increase.
