Disease outbreaks predicted in flood-ravaged Balkans

Communities in the Balkans devastated by the worst floods the region has seen in more than a century are now facing the threat of lethal disease as waters recede. At least 50 people have been killed with the death toll expected to rise as hundreds of people are still unaccounted for. Tens of thousands of people have been made homeless as towns and villages were submerged in Serbia, Bosnia, and parts of Croatia.
