摘要

The study was carried out on sublingual salivary gland of 18 sheep foetuses ranging from 20 days of prenatal life to full term. A weak activity of phosphatases and oxidoreductases was observed in the acinar cells and in ductular epithelium at 40~(th) day of prenatal life. From 58~(th) day onwards, a weak to moderate diffused granular alkaline phosphatase activity was observed inseromu-cousacini whereas oxidoreductases showed moderate activity. The enzyme activity showed progressively increase with advancement of the gestation period. The alkaline phosphatase activity was more in lumen of acini and along the intercellular canaliculi from 110~(th) day onwards.
