Progesterone Profile on Different Days of Treatment, Intensity of Estrum and Conception Rate in Progesterone Based Synchronized Repeat Breeder Cows*

The influence of serum progesterone concentration on different days of treatment on intensity of estrus and conception rate was studied in 45 crossbred Jersey repeat breeder cows, which received progesterone based Co-synch estrous synchronization protocol. Serum progesterone was estimated on day 0 (start of treatment), day 9 (day of estrum), day 15 (6th day post-AI) and day 21 (12th day post-AI). There was no significant difference in progesterone levels among different degree of intensity of estrumon any day of treatment. There is no significant difference in the progesterone levels between pregnant and non-pregnant cows on day 0, 9 & 15. However on 12th day post-AI, the progesterone concentration was significantly higher in pregnant animals whencompared to non-pregnant animals.
