Dystocia Due to a Malposition of Twin Fetuses in a Crossbred Cow- A Case Report

A pluriparous full term pregnant crossbred cow with impaction of maternal pelvis to malposi-tionof twin fetus was successful delivered by mutation operation.Cattle are a mono-foetal species with occasional multiple pregnancies which result in the birth of a greater number of calves (most often two) (Sawa et ah, 2012). Most often attention is drawn to the fact that multiple pregnancies have negative effects on increased predisposition for abortion, dystocia (Max, 2011). Most twins in cattle are of thedizygous type (Ryan and Boland, 1991). Dizygous twins can be the same or opposite in sex and are no more alike phenotypically or genetically than siblings with the same parents born during different gesta-tions.The present case reports deals with a caseof dystocia due to twinning in a crossbred cow.
