Academic plastic surgery: a transatlantic perspective.

We enjoyed reading the stimulating report by Dr. Levin regarding the "business of academic plastic surgery" in the Journal and would like to put it into a transatlantic perspective. Although Dr. Levin's article focuses on the financial issues suggesting support for call coverage, recruitment support, and gain sharing, research and research funding fell a bit short in this regard.
