German 2019 coal imports to slide up to 16% - VDKi

German hard coal imports are forecast to decline between 8-16% this year to 39.0-43.0 mt from 46.7 mt imported in 2018, according to the country’s coal importers’ association, VDKi. Steam coal imports in 2019 are likely to drop to 25.0- 29.0 mt, from 32.0 mt in 2018. Coking coal and coke imports will slide to 14.0 mt from 14.7 mt in 2018, the association said.
