Potential Indian buyers of U.S. thermal coals may think they hold the cards in negotiations, but on this side of the world sources say domestic opportunities trump the Indians, deal or no deal. “We’re having some talks, but the big thing I’m seeing in the way is the domestic prices are pretty good,” a U.S. export supplier reports. “I’m hearing Pitt-8 coal (13,000 Btu/lb., 3.5% sulfur) is about $58” FOB rail.
