SunCoke Energy results hit by coal export, logistics woes

A tough export environment throughout much of 2019 took a toll on SunCoke Energy’s logistics performance and its overall bottom line. Revenues from the Convent Marine Terminal, Lake Terminal, Kanawha River Terminals and Dismal River Terminal slumped $9.0 million in the fourth quarter and $29.4 million for full-year 2019. SunCoke blamed “lower demand and depressed export pricing” for a revenue drop to $72.8 million, down from 2018’s $102.2 million.
