Most people know the parlor game “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.” It’s been around since the early ‘90s and, basically, figures out how far removed a movie star of, for example, the silent movie era is from Kevin Bacon. Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon came from the concept that most people in the world are removed from anyone else in the world by only six people or less. It’s called the Six Degrees of Separation Theory. Example: I got to meet Ronald Reagan while he was campaigning for president in 1980, Reagan knew Richard Nixon, who knew JFK, whose dad was Joe Kennedy, who knew Winston Churchill. That means I’m four degrees removed from Winston Churchill, or my Winston Churchill number would be 4.
