Blackjewel, Revelation file suit against Lexington Coal

Lexington Coal, owned by a trust affiliated with Jeffrey A. Hoops and members of his family, is being sued by Blackjewel LLC and Revelation Energy LLC, of which Hoops is the former president and CEO. The adversary proceeding, filed last week in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, seeks to recover damages for alleged injuries the plaintiffs said were caused by Lexington’s “improper actions in using and profiting from plaintiffs’ assets, including mining permits, inventory and equipment, without providing adequate consideration in return.”
