US Hampton Roads coal exports at 3.43 million st in January, up 10% on month

Coal exports out of the terminals in the Hampton Roads region in Virginia were at 3.43 million st in January, up 10% from 3.12 million st in December, Virginia Maritime Association data showed Monday. The latest month was also up 17.8% from the 2.91 million st exported in the year-ago month and was the highest total for the month of January in the last five years.
