Europe LNg regas rates eases; JkM makes its return

Europe has experienced a recent curb in its LNG imports with regasification rates easing to a three-month low amid a narrowing of the spread between the key European gas benchmarks and the Asian spot LNG price, making Europe a less attractive destination for spot Atlantic LNG cargoes than a few months ago. The arbitrage for sending Atlantic-sourced cargoes, such as US LNG, to Asia rather than to Europe has now flipped back in the money. The JKM spot Asian LNG price has been rising in recent weeks, driven by stronger Asian demand.
