Northwest European styrene monomer prices bounced $15/mt Friday to settle at $1,446/mt FOB Antwerp- Rotterdam-Amsterdam, influenced by a sudden surge upstream in the ICE Brent markets. The May ICE Brent contract rallied $3, to $126.14/barrel Friday afternoon, as weak short positions exited the market, leading to a bump in prices amid ongoing tensions with Iran. The front-month contract eventually settled $2.32/b up, at $124.98/b, which hauled the rest of the energy complex higher.
