Spot acrylonitrile prices fell $30/mt to $2,275/mt CIF Med this week as bearish pressure persisted following Asia's plunge. Most buyers were covered for April and in no rush to book for May. "We're trying to minimize our stock. We don't want to have too much inventory now that prices are going down," a consumer said. A buyer reported an April deal done at $2,315/mt, but this could not be confirmed with the seller. However, most sources felt this level was too high and no longer reflected the current market. A trader said his $2,300/mt offer received a lukewarm response and noted prices could be around $2,275-2,280/mt. Meanwhile, a consumer said $2,270-2,280/mt seemed reasonable, but added he was not in need of spot supply in April-May.
