Dubai-Petrofac has been awarded a two year extension to its operations and maintenance deal with Iraq’s Basra Oil Co for the country’s southern export system, as well as a major contract for new gas processing facilities in Oman. Petrofac signed a $160 million extension to its existing five-year contract with Iraq, the London-listed engineering company said Wednesday. The deal covers facilities 60 kilometers off the Al-Fao peninsula in southern Iraq, including a central metering and manifold platform, along with four single-point moorings which facilitate oil exports to crude carriers. It also includes responsibility for 300 km of subsea pipelines, Petrofac said.
