Oil futures rise as US crude build slows

Oil futures strengthened Thursday after Energy Information Administration data showed a smaller-than-expected build in US crude stocks, as well as draws in gasoline and distillate inventories. NYMEX April crude rose 86 cents to settle at $54.45/b. ICE April Brent settled 74 cents higher at $56.58/b. Crude inventories rose 564,000 barrels to 518.683 million barrels in the week ended February 17, setting another record for the most barrels in storage, according to EIA data.
