Singapore-Singapore’s Consort Bunkers expects the delivery of a new bunker barge by October as the company rejuvenates its fleet ahead of the International Maritime Organization’s low-sulfur mandate, said Yeo Siok Keak, the company’s director and general manager. “We have invested in a new fleet,” Yeo told S&P Global Platts in an interview. “The process was initiated two years ago when seven new- build vessels were ordered to replace [part of] the existing fleet.”
