Calcined petcoke prices edge higher globally; uncertainty remains over China’s market direction

Calcined petcoke prices continuedto see some upward momentum inMarch, but with few transactions seen andno sign of much in the way of second-quarterbusiness having been negotiated.The Platts US Gulf CPC assessment roseto $440-$470/mt FOB in March from $430-$450/mt in February, but indications fromthe sell and buy sides ranged from $430 toabove $500/mt. The assessment reflectsthe current transactable value of CPC with2.5-2.7% sulfur and max 300 ppm vanadium,loading 30-60 days forward with net-30 dayspayment terms.
