China spot alumina edges up yuan 10/mt to yuan 2,550/mt

Singapore—The Platts Shanxi daily spot alumina assessment edged up Yuan 10/mt ($1.43) on Tuesday to Yuan 2,550/mt ex- works cash. The current price also reflected an increase of Yuan 40/mt on the week, and was up Yuan 80/mt from last month. An unconfirmed Shanxi spot trade was heard done at Yuan 2,650/mt on Tuesday, but no further details were provided, a Shanxi refiner said. A Shanghai trader also reported hearing a Shanxi spot trade done at the same level, but said it included around Yuan 100/mt for delivered to plant cost.
