More than 200,000 mt of China’s copper scrap import quota has yet to be used after the government issued the 12th batch of copper scrap import licenses for September, while China is seen importing lesser scrap in September, Chinese sources said Sept. 22. In its copper weekly, China Construction Bank said that after August, 237,409 mt of China’s copper scrap import quota was left unused. This, together with the September batch of 136,335 mt, implied that at least 200,000 mt of the quota is unused.
