China’s Q3 copper processing rate to slump on pandemic: report

China’s third-quarter copper plate, strip processing sector average run rate is expected to drop to 60%-65% from 67.8% in the second quarter as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Beijing Antaike said in a report July 21. At key downstream copper producers, with total capacity of 2.037 million mt/year, Q2 copper plate and strip output stood at 343,700 mt, up 38% from Q1, with an average run rate of 67.8%, up 42% from Q1, the report said.
