Small number of buyers lift rhodium prices as palladium rall

Rhodium prices rose nearly $500 this week after a small number of buyers secured metal at $8,600/oz and above. The Platts New York Dealer rhodium price range rose to $7,850-$8,750/oz from $7,500-$8,000/oz last week. “There definitely was some demand, especially after the end of the quarter and first half,” one PGMs dealer said, putting the range of physical deals this week at $8,000- $8,600/oz. “But it was heavily offered too and today [July 9],” he added. “It didn’t seem there were that many buyers but prices were still going up.”
