The Platts Shanxi daily spot alumina assess- ment rose Yuan 30 ($4.30) on Wednesday to Yuan 2,540/mt ex-works cash, an increase of Yuan 30 over the last week and Yuan 80 from a month ago. Unconfirmed spot trades were heard at Yuan 2,520-2,550/mt ex-works Shanxi on Wednesday, market participants said. Tradable values were also indicated mostly at Yuan 2,520-2,550/mt, with indicative offers heard at around Yuan 2,600/mt.
