COMEX gold drops $7/oz as global equity markets rally

COME gold futures closed more than $7/oz lower Tuesday as global equity markets moved higher on renewed optimism over US/China trade talks and falling bond yields. COMEX gold for April delivery, the active month, closed $7.60/oz lower at $1,315/oz after declining steadily in Shanghai and London trading. The market found firm support at $1,312/ oz just before the New York open but rallies to the $1,316-$1,318/oz range were sold. The forward June contract, which will become the new active month after Wednesday, also closed $7.60/oz lower at $1,321.40/oz.
