High-grade copper supply limited in US, Grade A metal especially short

As some copper cathode producers were somewhat short of high- grade material this week, it made for a tight market, sources said. The Platts assessment for Grade A cathode was steady Thursday at spot COMEX plus 8.00-8.75 cents/lb. Spot activity was subdued this week, with many participants attending the American Copper Council meeting in Seattle.
