China’s Sep aluminum output dips 2.5%, but tipped to rise

Singapore—China’s primary aluminum output in September fell 2.5% to 2.9 million mt in September compared with August, but is expected to rise in October as smelters resume production. Over January-September, aluminum output totaled 26.37 million mt, up 1.1% from the same period last year, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics. Aluminum accounted for 60.7% of the total output of 10 major non-ferrous metals.
