COMEX gold and silver futures closed with sizable losses Monday after trending lower most of the day as major equity indexes shot higher and the US dollar recouped earlier declines. Gold for April delivery, the active month, closed $8.20 lower at $1,291.10/oz after trending lower throughout London and early New York trading.
