Irkutsk Polymer Selects Univation to Supply Technologies for New PE Plant in Russia

Moscow-Irkutsk Polymer Plant, a subsidiary of Irkutsk Oil Co., has selected Univation Technologies to provide the processes for a polyethylene (PE) unit to be built in Ust-Kut, Irkutsk region, Russia (PCN, 25 Mar 2019, p 1). The new 650,000-t/y PE unit, which will be based on Univation's Unipol PE technology, will have a full-density range of PE resin product capability, allowing Irkutsk to access a wide range of high-density PE (HDPE) and linear low-density PE product applications in both domestic and export markets. A schedule for the project was not given.
