Shin-Etsu's Shintech Louisiana Begins Ethylene Production at Plaquemine

Houston— Shintech Louisiana, a subsidiary of Shin-Etsu Chemical, recently began production at a new ethylene facility at its site in Plaquemine, La. (PCN, 30 July 2018, p 1). The 500,000-t/y ethylene plant, originally expected to begin production in 2018, was built by Toyo U.S.A., a subsidiary of Toyo Engineering. Cost of the project was not available.
