Shintech’s Louisiana ethylene plant starts production

Toyo Engineering Corp. and its subsidiary Toyo U.S.A., the engineering contractors on the project, have announced the completion of construction of an ethylene plant for Shintech at Plaquemine, Louisiana. The 500,000-metric tons/year ethylene plant has started production, the companies say. Shintech, the US subsidiary of Shin-Etsu Chemical, through the new facility, is back-integrating in its polyvinyl chloride (PVC) production at the site.
