Taiwan containerized scrap prices rise as number of offers fall

Singapore—Containerized scrap prices to Taiwan continued to rise through the week started July 12, as buyers and traders were seeing scrap yards holding back on offers amid a regional upswing, Taiwanbased market sources said. S&P Global Platts daily TSI HMS I/II 80:20 containerized scrap spot price was assessed at $240/mt CFR Taiwan on July 17, up $5/mt on the week. Latest deal prices for USWC HMS I/II 80:20 were at $238/mt on July 16. But buy and sell side sources pointed to a tradable level of $240/mt CFR on July 17.
