Vietnam's Hoa Phat posts 15% rise in Jan-Jul construction steel output

Singapore—Vietnam’s steel-making giant Hoa Phat produced about 1.81 million mt of construction steel from January to July, up 14.5% on the year, the company said August 3. The steelmaker attributed the higher output to the Vietnamese government's implementation of several infrastructure projects such as the Eastern North-South Expressway that will span 654 km and cost about Dong 102.5 trillion ($4.39 billion), as well as repairing and upgrading runways of international airports and hospital buildings.
