Iran’s iron ore concentrates, coal exports surge: Imidro

Iran’s concentrated iron ore exports rose sharply during in the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21– February 21), according to Iranian mines and metals state holding firm Imidro. Iranian producers exported some 6.9 million mt of concentrated iron ore, valued at $485.5 million, during the 11-month period — a 628% year-on-year volume increase and 542% higher in total value. Some 417,000 mt of coal was exported by Iranian miners during the 11-month period at a value of $70.5 million, according to Imidro statistics. That represented an increase of 417.5% year on year in tonnage and 180% in value. Iran also imported 643,000 mt of metallurgical coal and coke during the period, 78% more year on year.
