London—Upcoming EU Parliamentary elections slated for May 23-26 are not expected to have a major impact on the EU Emissions Trading System, whose rules for the post-2020 period have already been agreed in law. However, a raft of EU energy policy areas could be impacted by the elections, which are widely expected to see the two largest political groups lose ground to smaller fringe parties.
