Metallex, Price Consult form Pool to boost ferrous derivatives liquidity

London—Ferrous derivatives marketmaker Metallex Ltd and strategies development company Price Consult have linked up to form Pool, a cooperative venture which aims to encourage companies to trade iron and steel products on derivatives markets to increase liquidity, the venture’s founder Phillip Price said Thursday. Speaking on the sidelines of the London Metal Exchange's Ferrous Focus event, part of LME Week, Price said that Pool aims to assist steel companies which lack reporting systems and derivatives market experience, by recommending staff and setting up virtual networking and actual meetings to raise awareness of hedging.
