Asia HRC prices fall despite stronger China home prices

Asia HRC prices were facing downward pressure Tuesday, due to limited buying interest despite the willingness by Chinese mills to cut prices. S&P Global Platts assessed SS400 HRC 3 mm thick on Tuesday at $560/mt FOB China, a drop of $2/mt day on day. On a CFR Southeast Asia basis, the same grade of coil was assessed at $568/mt, unchanged day on day. 0Several Chinese mills had indicated they were willing to sell at $560-$565/mt FOB China for HRC SS400 grade. However, no bids were heard in the market.
