The Platts 62% IODEX jumped $4.80/dmt on the week to $93.25/dmt Friday as seaborne liquidity recovered strongly amid thinning port inventories. Several traders noted that end-user iron ore demand has exceeded expectations and “traders were not actively taking positions earlier in the month and reselling volumes available at port-side has been decreasing fast,” a trader source added.
