European steel coil prices rise as virus concerns linger

The S&P Global Platts TSI hot-rolled coil index was calculated up Eur2.50/mt Monday at Eur483.50/mt ($525.13/mt) ex-works Ruhr, bringing recent gains in the northern region to Eur15/mt so far in February and Eur48.50/mt in 2020. In southern Europe HRC added Eur1.50/mt and was assessed at Eur456.50/mt ex-works Italy. In February HRC ex-works Italy achieved gains of just Eur3.50/mt and year-to-date an increase of Eur27/mt in 2020.
